The Sweet Skin, The Set-Up Continues

With around 48 hours to go, the bare bones of the Australian Open of Surfing site begin to receive their cosmetic enhancements.

Here we see a giant 14 metre x 10 metre banner flapping in the wind like a kiddie’s kite, before a few blokes from the site crew muster to pull the thing into position.

This façade is the northern side of the towering Beach Bowl grandstand.

By the time the dignitaries and VIP athletes arrive for the press launch, the site will be finished, looking awesome and visible from space (but only by astronauts using an extremely high-powered telescope).
