Children Collide

You never bring a sword to a gunfight. At least, that's what Melbourne indie rock trio Children Collide would have us believe with their latest hit, Sword to a Gunfight.

New album MONUMENT, the follow up album to the ARIA-nominated ‘Theory Of Everything’, will be released in April this year, meaning the Australian Open of Surfing crowd will get one of the first tastes of their new album and all-new show.

Born from live music, Children Collide pride themselves on leaving nothing on the stage in an effort to give the audience an unforgettable experience. And by the ocean on Manly Beach, with their retro, psychadelic rock sound, the atmosphere will be nothing short of magical. Children Collide and surfing go hand-in-hand.

"There's post-punk still, there's sort of Krauty-psych influence in a lot of it. It gets a bit dancey," vocalist and guitarist John Mackay says.

Laden with swagger and rhythm, Children Collide have perfected what few bands are capable of - combining a consistent melody with any genre or influence that takes their fancy.

And on Saturday night, they shape as the perfect supporting act to fellow Melbourne lads and Australian rock royalt, The Living End.
